New to Badminton?
Badminton is the fastest racket sport in the world, with the shuttle reaching speeds of up to 493 km/h (world record set in 2013). That is almost twice as fast as the fastest tennis serve that has been recorded (263 km/h)! As well as being the fastest racket sport, it is also the most popular racket sport in the world and in the UK. This is reflected in the size of the badminton club at UCL and King’s, where each society has over 150 members. With this much popularity, and the traditional rivalry between UCL and KCL, this year’s Varsity will be packed with excitement, drama and competitiveness.
We’re ready for Varsity!
Last year we had a very close game, where KCL won by just a game margin. This time round we’re not going to let that happen. We look forward to some very good matches, but most importantly a UCL victory!
We won last year, this year we’re planning to repeat the victory.
Bring it on KCL!
We are eager to display the mighty sportsmanship that badminton offers, and will definitely give KCL a memorable day.
For the spirit of the sport, the excitement for the sport and the reputation of KCL… We will retain our title as the Varsity champions in a nail biting finish just like last year!
